The Dancing Girl
Background
The video is based on the fact that more than half of the 50 million children under the age of 14 in The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region of China have experienced different form of violence. Violence against children does not stop once it has begun, and children who experience violence experience different forms of trauma -- physical, psychological, or both -- that have a significant impact on their future. On the other hand, most of the abused children do not take the initiative to seek help because of fear and threat, which also leads to the continuous occurrence of violence.
Concept
In this public interest video, a girl is dancing, but the audience can hardly see the bruises on her face, and no one truly knows the secret behind her. In the form of comparison and questions, the video shows the phenomenon that many children seem normal on the surface, but they are being treated violently behind the scenes.
Key Point
Rather than directly appealing to parents not to treat their children violently, advocating people in the soc iety to pay more at tent ion to the occurrence of violence against children can be more helpful to curb violence against children. The growth of children needs more attention from the society. The key point of “The Dancing Girl” is to call for people to pay more attention to these children who are treated with violence, and help them in time.
